Precision stamping dies are deformed by heat, so don’t panic at all if you know the following points. Friends who are engaged in the processing of precision stamping molds know that the processing of precision molds requires heat treatment. In this process, deformation will occur from time to time. So, how can we prevent such phenomena from happening? Below, let the author of Dongguan Hardware bring you a few methods. 1. Fair selection of materials. For precision stamping dies, select micro-deformed die steels with good materials (such as air-quenched steels). Die steels with severe carbide segregation should be properly casted. For larger die steels that cannot be cast, solid solution double refinement heat treatment can be performed . 2. The mold structure design should be fair, the thickness should not be too large, the shape should be symmetrical, the deformation law should be grasped for the larger deformed mold, and the processing allowance should be reserved. For the large, precision stamping mold, a combined structure can be used. 3. Pre-heat treatment of precision stamping dies should be carried out to remove residual stress generated during machining. 4. Fairly select the heating temperature and control the heating speed. For precision and complex molds, slow heating, preheating and other balanced heating methods can be used to reduce the heat treatment deformation of the mold. 5. Under the condition of ensuring the hardness of the mold, try to use the pre-cooling, hierarchical cooling quenching or warm quenching process. 6. For precision stamping dies, if the premise permits, try to use vacuum heating and quenching and cryogenic treatment after quenching. 7. For some sophisticated molds, pre-heat treatment, aging heat treatment, and tempering and nitriding heat treatment can be used to control the accuracy of the mold. 8. When repairing mold blisters, pores, wear and other defects, use cold welders and other repair equipment with low heat impact to avoid deformation during the repair process.
